Find the Right Vehicle for Your Teen Driver

Do you have a new teen driver in your house? Let’s find the right vehicle for your teen driver!

Joe shares valuable insights for parents of new teen drivers and explains why he chose a Subaru Crosstrek for his kids. With its excellent safety features, reliability, and versatility, the Crosstrek is an ideal choice to give peace of mind while fostering independence on the road.

As a parent, one of the most anxious feelings I’ve experienced was the fear of watching my children drive away on their own, even though I spent two years teaching them how to drive, paid for driver training by a very qualified professional, and watched them pass their road test with confidence and enthusiasm.  The first day they were able to drive on their own, by themselves, made uneasy, because I know what kind of challenges even the most experienced driver faces daily in run of the mill driving situations.  It could be tight left turns, inclement weather, or worst of all, careless drivers or incautious drivers who drive aggressively in routine driving scenarios.  It is for this reason that I chose that both of my children learn to drive in a Subaru Crosstrek.

A Subaru Crosstrek possesses many, many advantages for a young driver.  First of all, they are easy to handle and enjoyable to drive.  This is because they have a sporty feel without being overpowering, yet have more than adequate power for all driving situations.  They turn crisply and precisely in tight areas, like parking lots, so they are easy to get in and out of busy areas.  They have great visibility, so they are easy to learn to parallel park.  They have great safety equipment, mainly, all wheel drive, so they handle winter driving better than most vehicles on the road.  Many trim levels are also equipped with blind sport detection and rear cross traffic alert, which helps new drivers and learning drivers in lane changes and merges.  And, top of the list in my opinion, is Subaru Eyesight.  This feature has been standard equipment since 2020 on any automatic.  It was available on select models previous to that.  This safety feature provides an important back stop for an inexperienced driver as it will warn a driver if the driver is crossing a solid line and try to stop the vehicle from an impact the driver has not taken action to avoid.  This safety equipment is finely calibrated to react when a driver has been negligent and is not intrusive.  It’s gives me the peace of mind that my young driver is being protected if I’m not in the vehicle with them.  That peace of mind is priceless!  If you have any questions feel free to reach out!
