Splash Guards or Mud Flaps?

SPLASH GUARDS OR MUD FLAPS?

Don’t send your Subaru out in Southern Alberta unprotected… Splash Guards or Mud Flaps are a necessity in our area. But which one is right for your Subaru?

Subaru sells four SUVs, arranged in order from smallest to largest, you have the Crosstrek, the Forester, the Outback, and the Ascent.  Subaru does well to protect the paint from road rash in all four models by adding cladding from the front bumper, around the front wheel wells, down the side sills, around the back wheel wells and then back to the back bumper.  Road rash is terrible – it’s terrible for appearance for sure, but more importantly, if the paint is chipped, the metal below will begin to rust and become more than just an eyesore.  So cladding is functional, and makes the Subaru SUVs more rugged looking to boot.

But for most customers driving around Southern Alberta, I recommend additional available protection from Subaru as a Genuine Subaru Accessory.  This protection is the Splash Guard Kit or Mud Flap Kit.

These kits are available for all four models.  Either kit provides great benefits in terms of keeping moisture, rocks, road debris, etc. from being shot up from the rolling tires to the side of the car.  If you do any amount of regular travel on gravel roads, you’ll want to invest in a set of Mud Flaps.  If you’re driving is predominantly on paved roads, the Splash Guards would provide sufficient protection.  Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, but in this blogger’s opinion, both add to the look of the Subaru too!
